Commando Comics

Commando Comics are a series of comic books that primarily draw their themes and backdrops from the various incidents of the World wars I and II. Basically they are action and adventure stories in black and white drawings. There are certain characteristic motifs that are ubiquitous and without (one of which at least)which no Commando comic is complete. To mention a few- courage, cowardice, patriotism, dying for the sake of one's country, noble actions in the face of danger, enemity turning into friendship when the going gets tough, and so on. Apart from portraying these universal qualities, Commando comics also show soldiers in national stereotypes. Irrespective of their cliched themes, they offer hours of action and excitement to the younger readers.
