Command And General Staff College

First established in 1881 as a school for infantry and cavalry, the U.S. Army's Command and General Staff College (C&GSC) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas functions as a graduate school for U.S. military leaders. The development of the college has been parallel with the increasing professionalization of the U.S. Army, reaching its present form in the aftermath of the taxing Vietnam War.
