"Come On Eileen" by Dexy's Midnight Runners and The Emerald Express was the biggest selling British single of 1982. Written by Kevin Rowland, Big Jim Paterson and Billy Adams (and produced by Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley), the song repeated its British chart success around the globe, reaching Number One in the United States the following April.
