College ConfidentialCollege Confidential is a website primarily about the college admissions process in the United States. It is operated by CollegeConfidential.com, Inc. Forums College Confidential has very active forums under the heads of "College Admissions," "What are my chances?," "Individual Schools," "Ivy League Schools," "Financial Aid and Scholarships," "College Life," "Test Preparation," "Parents' Forum," "High School Life and Pre-college Issues," "Pre-Med and Med School," "Home Schooling and College," and "College Confidential Caf." Nervous students tend to flock to these forums during decision time, and form "bands" that support one another both on the forum and through online blogs and instant messaging services such as AIM. This is especially prevalent during the months leading up to early decision notification, in which students declare a preference for one college and agree if accepted in December, they will attend. The students on these boards tend to lean to the overachieving side of the spectrum, and consequently, the forums for prestigious colleges are the most active of all. The forums are moderated. College Advising College Confidential also has its own college advising program, although the program costs money. Recognition College Confidential has received accolades from many prestigious sources. It has been described as "A Wealth of Information" by The New York Times.
