Master-General of the Ordnance
(among other numerous appointments). They would lead this coalition of
Tories
and
Whigs
until
1708
, one year after the
Act of Union
formed the
Kingdom of Great Britain
. Among their most senior ministers were Sir Charles Hedges (Tory), Lord Nottingham (Tory), Sir Robert Harley (a Whig who would rise to power in 1704), and Lord Sunderland (Whig).
