Click Donation

In the Internet, a click donation is a donation made to a charity when a hyperlink on a webpage is clicked on. The hyperlink often leads to an advertising webpage of a corporate donor. The donation is paid for by the company whose ad one has just seen.

While not literally directly contributing money towards charity, the person who is clicking is helping in the sense that, had s/he not clicked, then the money would not have been donated in "their name". Websites of this nature are also referred to as "one-click charities". Some examples include:
Talk show host Oprah, along with other humanitarian individuals and organizations, have endorsed this as a positive use of the Internet and an easy way to help others.
