Civil Rights Act of 1875

blacks
the same treatment as

in certain public places.
Civil Rights Act of 1957

(CRC) to protect individuals rights to
equal protection
and permitted courts to grant injunctions in support of the CRC.
Civil Rights Act of 1960
established federal inspection of local voter registration rolls
Civil Rights Act of 1964
was a landmark law protecting black men from job and other forms of discrimination.
Civil Rights Act of 1968
prohibited discrimination concerning the sale, rental, and financing of housing.
Civil Rights Act of 1991
provided for the right to trial by jury on discrimination claims and introduced the possibility of emotional distress damages, while limiting the amount that a jury could award.
