Chuck Daly

Chuck Daly (born July 20, 1930 in St. Marys, Pennsylvania)grew up in Kane, Pennsylvania. There, he attended St. Callistus Catholic School. He is a former basketball coach who was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame on May 9, 1994. He is famous for being the coach of the gold medal basketball Dream Team in the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympic Games, along with coaching the Detroit Pistons to back to back NBA championships in 1989 and 1990. Other highlights:
  • Led Detroit to 9 winning seasons in a row. Previously Detroit had never had two winning seasons in a row.
  • Coached a total of 12 NBA seasons with a 564-379 (.598) career record.
