Chteau-thierry

Château-Thierry is a commune of north-eastern France, about 56 miles east-northeast of Paris. It is a sous-prfecture of the Aisne dpartement, in the Picardie administrative rgion.

History

Château-Thierry was the site of an important World War I battle in 1918, between American and German troops.

Geography

Château-Thierry is situated on the Marne River.

Transportation

Chteau-Thierry is the terminus station of a regional railway line starting from the Gare de l'Est in Paris. It is also one of the exits of the A4 motorway that links Paris with the east part of France.

Chteau-Thierry was the birthplace of Jean de La Fontaine. The city is a partner city of Mosbach (Germany)
