Christian Metal

Christian metal, also known as white metal (often referred to as "anti-black metal" by black metal fans, or "life metal" by fans of death metal), is a form of heavy metal music with explicitly Christian lyrics. It is a type of contemporary Christian music (CCM). The first Christian metal band was arguably Jerusalem. Stryper was the first to popularize the genre. Most heavy metal fans do not consider this to be a real form of metal, but oddly enough It sounds exactly like it's counterparts, just with a different lyrical theme. White Metal can Fall under many subgenres a swell. Take for example the sound of the band Horde who have extreme Black Metal influences, yet are deemed White Metal, or take for example the sound of Whitecross who adapt a Hair Metal style and are also deemed White Metal. Many Doom Metal bands cover the themes of the vastness and fathomeness of God in an act of adoration (Virgin Black & Saviour Machine). Many Christian metal bands can be seen at the Cornerstone Festival in Illinois or Bobfest in Europe.
