Christian De QuinceyPhilosopher and author Christian de Quincey, Ph.D. is a speaker on consciousness, spirituality and science at conferences and workshops in the United States and Europe. His primary work is the "Radical Consciousness" trilogy, Radical Nature: Rediscovering the Soul of Matter, Radical Knowing: Exploring Consciousness through Relationship, and Radical Science: Exploring Consciousness the Final Frontier. He also wrote the ebook Deep Spirit: In Search of the Noetic Code, and, with Willis Harman, The Scientific Exploration of Consciousness. His next book, Radical Knowing, second in the "Radical Consciousness" trilogy, is expected to be published in the fall of 2005. Dr. de Quincey is a professor of Consciousness Studies at John F. Kennedy University, adjunct faculty at the Union University and Institute, and the Arthur M. Young Professor of Philosophy at the University of Philosophical Research. He is the founder of The Visionary Edge, a media production company and network of media professionals whose stated mission is to "transform global consciousness by transforming mass media." Until recently, Dr. de Quincey was Managing Editor of Shift magazine (formerly IONS Review), from the Institute of Noetic Sciences. De Quincey's writings on consciousness have appeared in both popular and academic journals, including Journal of Consciousness Studies, Journal of Transpersonal Psychology, Cerebrum, IONS Review, Shift, ReVision, Network, Connections, Advances in Health & Healing, and Somatics. Before moving into academia, he worked in the field of marketing/public relations; prior to that he was a professional journalist for a number of publications including the London Sunday Times, The Irish Times, and the science journal Nature. He also served as adjunct faculty on the University of Arizona's online degree course in consciousness studies and also as a member of advisory committee for the University of Arizona's Center for Consciousness Studies; on the program committee for the University of Arizona's "Spirituality & Healing" conference; and on the program committee for Dublin University's conference on "Cognitive Science."
