Christian Communists

This term has been applied to Gerrard Winstanley and his followers of 17th Century England, who were known as the True Levellers and called by their detractors The Diggers, because they based their beliefs upon the concept of sharing all things in common for which they drew their authority from the Book of Acts. See Christian left for a more detailed explanation.
