Chrissy GephardtChrissy Gephardt is the daughter of 2004 American presidential candidate and Missouri representative Dick Gephardt. She first came to public attention when NBC decided to announce that she was gay. She had been married for a year before she fell in love with her current partner Amy Loder, and came out to her husband and to her father. She was subsequently featured on the cover of The Advocate. Though it had been speculated that public knowledge that he had a lesbian daughter might hurt Dick Gephardt's campaign, Chrissy Gephardt proved to be an asset, promoting his candidacy to gay groups nationwide.
