Chitinase

Chitinase (barley seed chitinase: PDB 1CNS, EC 3.2.1.14) is a digestive enzyme that breaks down glycosidic bonds in chitin. It is found in chitinivorous bacteria (bacteria that are able to digest chitin), and if the entries in the Protein Data Bank are correct, quite a few plants have chitinases as well.
