and was sold in Europe as the

. Opel assisted in the development of the van as well. For

, the replacement model will be renamed
Chevrolet Uplander
.

The 1997 Venture, also sold as the
Oldsmobile Silhouette
and
Pontiac Montana
, used a 180 hp 3.3 L
V6
. A larger 3.4 L 185 hp engine was used from
1999
. A
Warner Brothers
edition introduced in
2000
featured a
DVD
entertainment system, a novelty at the time. The exterior was refreshed in
2001
, and
all wheel drive
introduced in
2002
. The vehicle was replaced after

by the new
Chevrolet Uplander
