Chevrolet Astro

The Chevrolet Astro is a Chevrolet minivan introduced in 1985 to rival domestic (U.S.) competitors which consisted of Chrysler's Caravan and Ford's Aerostar. Also sharing the platform with the Astro is its sibling at GMC, the Safari. General Motors announced in 2004 that the Safari and Astro will be discontinued in 2005, and the Baltimore, Maryland assembly plant where both are built will be closed. The Astro is not to be confused with the Chevrolet Astra sold in Latin America, which is derived from the Opel model of that name. Engines:
