Cheat River

The Cheat River is a river mostly in the U.S. state of West Virginia. The headwaters are in Tucker County. It flows through Preston County and Monongalia County before entering the state of Pennsylvania, shortly after which it flows into the Monongahela River, near Point Marion, Pennsylvania. During part of its run, it is also known as Cheat Lake, a hydro-electric dam reservoir. Other names for the river are Ach-sin-ha-nac, Achsinhanac, Cheal River, Chealt River, Eleat River, and Wilmoths River.
