Charles W. BryanCharles Wayland Bryan (February 10, 1887 - March 4, 1945), was the much younger brother of perennial U.S. Democratic presidential candidate William Jennings Bryan. Bryan served as mayor of Lincoln, Nebraska from 1915 to 1917, and again from 1935 to 1937, and as Governor of Nebraska from 1923 to 1925 and again from 1931 to 1935. He was an unsuccessful candidate for governor in 1926, 1928, and 1938. Bryan was also notable as the Democratic vice presidential candidate in 1924, where he was picked largely because of his name to serve as running mate to conservative easterner John W. Davis. The ticket was overwhelmingly defeated. Bryan, Charles W. Bryan, Charles W. Bryan, Charles W. Bryan, Charles W.
