Chamizal Dispute

The Chamizal dispute was a conflict over the border between Mexico and the United States that is marked by the Rio Grande. The river had shifted since it was first surveyed in 1852, leaving the two countries unclear as to which land belonged on which side. The dispute has been resolved.
