Cert

The CERT/CC (Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Center) was created by DARPA in November 1988 after the Morris worm struck. It is a major coordination center in dealing with internet security problems. The CERT/CC is run by the federally funded Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University. The SEI also created the Capability Maturity Model (CMM). The CERT/CC is not to be confused with United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) which is part of the National Cyber Security Division of the United States Government's Department of Homeland Security. The two organisations work closely together and cross reference each other.
