Centre Party (Ireland)

Centre Party
was a political party in the
Irish Free State
in the early
1930s
. It was jointly led by
Frank MacDermott
and
James Dillon
, the later of whom was the son of the last leader of the
Irish Parliamentary Party
,
John Dillon
. The Centre Party merged with
Cumann na nGaedheal
and the
Army Comrades Association
to form
Fine Gael
, the main Irish opposition party, in
1933
.
