cecill

The CeCILL License ("Ce(A)C(nrs)I(NRIA)L(ogiciel)L(ibre)") is an attempt of the CEA, CNRS and the INRIA to craft a Free Software license adapted to both International and French legal matters, in the spirit and retaining compatibility with the GNU General Public License. It was launched on the 5th of July 2004 in a joint press communication http://www.inria.fr/presse/pre119.fr.html of the CEA, CNRS and INRIA. It gained support of the main French Linux User Group, and of the Minister of Public Function; it is now under examination to be adapted at the European level.
