Cbht

CBHT came on the air in 1954 as an owned and operated station of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It broadcasts on Channel 3 in the Halifax area. In 1958 it was connected to the CBC microwave network, bringing the live CBC feed to CBHT. In 1966 colour programming commenced. CBHT eventually covered all of Nova Scotia with rebroadcast transmitters. In 1999 its local newscast "First Edition" was cancelled and replaced with Canada Now. Programs produced at CBHT include Don Messer's Jubilee, Switchback, Land and Sea, This Hour Has 22 Minutes and .
