Captain Ginyu

Captain Ginyu is a fictional character in the manga Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z and the anime Dragon Ball Z. He was the henchman of Freeza, the leader of the elite Ginyu Force. Large, purple, and with two horms on his head, he looked more goofy than evil. The Ginyu Force had an odd tendency to strike ridiculous poses in the middle of fights, as an ongoing joke (and as a parody of anime series suc as Sailor Moon.) This joke would later be brought back when one of the heros (Son Gohan) would take up a disguise to fight crime, replicating many of Captain Ginyu's "moves." Ginyu fights most of the protagonists, predictably doing well against the secondary characters and not-so-well against the heroes. The twist comes with his ability to swap bodies with anyone. First he steals Son Goku's body, then attempts to trick the other characters into giving him the dragonballs. When that doesn't work, he attempts to swap bodies with Vegeta. A bunch more swapping about takes place, ultimately resulting in everyone being back where they belong, except Ginyu, who gets stuck as a frog. In the anime, Bulma later finds him, and as he follows her around, showing intelligence, she grows semi-attached to the frog. She builds it a voice translator, and he instantly swaps bodies with her. (Voice being the key to activating his body swap power.) Bulma-Ginyu goes off to where the main characters are fighting, but again as he tries to swap bodies into a more powerful form, he is foiled. One of the characters figured things out, and throws the frog back in the way, putting Bulma back in her body and leaving Ginyu as a frog for the rest of the series. The Ginyu Frog does survive the planet's destruction, and winds up living on Earth being chased around by a female frog.
