Canhas

Canhas is a parish in the district of Ponta do Sol in the Madeira Islands. The population in 2001 is 3,214, its density is 241.7/km and the area is 13.3 km/1,330 ha. It is located on a road linking Calheta and Canhas. The main industry are agriculture, fishing and some other industries. It is connected with a road linking. The Atlantic Ocean is to the south. The mountains are to the north. The city of Calheta is bounded to the west and Porto Moniz and So Vicente to the north without having connected roads to those places.
