Camille D'hostun, Duc De Tallard

Camille d'Hostun de la Baume, Duc de Tallard (1652-1728) was a French military commander. A Marechal de France from 1703, he won a number of battles in his lifetime like Speyer (1703) but is most famous for losing to the Duke of Marlborough and Prince Eugene at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704, at which he was taken prisoner. In 1726 he became a French minister of state and died in the year 1728.
