California's Gold

California's Gold is a PBS travel program that explores the numerous natural, cultural and historical wonders of the Golden State. The show, now in its 13th year, is produced and hosted by Huell Howser. The minimal production allows the locations, and people, to remain the focal point of the program. Howser, a cherubic and rather fit gentleman, is an amiable and easily amused interviewer. After more than a decade of interviewing fidgeting park rangers Howser continues to entone a certain boyish enthusiasm for the show's locations and topics. See also: Public Broadcasting Service.
