C.d. Chivas UsaClub Deportivo Chivas USA is a Major League Soccer franchise, that begain playing the 2005 MLS season. The club is owned by Jorge Vergara, also the owner of the Mexican club Chivas de Guadalajara and Deportivo Saprissa of Costa Rica. The team plays its home games at the Home Depot Center, sharing it with the Los Angeles Galaxy. The first coach of Chivas USA Thomas Rongen, former coach of MLS clubs Tampa Bay Mutiny, New England Revolution, and D.C. United. The team is targeting the Latin, or more specifically Mexican, fanbase that, although living in the United States, has largely ignored MLS while ardently following the Primera Divisin de Mxico.
