Butler Education ActThe Butler Education Act of 1944 was brought into force for schools in England and Wales. This Act introduced the Tripartite System of secondary education. It established three levels of school: grammar school, secondary modern school and technical schools. Grammar schools focussed on an academic form of education, where as Secondary Modern schools focused on explicitly vocational forms of education. In essence, grammar schools became associated with high status.
