Butler's Rangers
Butler's Rangers
was a
Tory
or
Loyalist
irregular
unit in the
British Army
during the
American Revolutionary War
. They were organized and led by
John Butler
. Nominally a
Canadian
unit, many members were Tories from
upstate New York
, and they fought in
western New York
and
Pennsylvania
. There is also a modern group of
reenactors
representing Butler's Rangers.
