Burned Fur

Burned Fur was a loose organization within the furry fandom that represented an attempt to remove what the members felt were unacceptable excesses within the fandom: in particular, the ideas and practices under the heading of the Furry Lifestylers, as well as sexual practices like zoophilia and plushophilia, which were allegedly not sanctioned by mainstream society or by most people within furry fandom. The highly controversial group, or movement, existed approximately from the fall of 1998 until the middle of 2001, when support had faded almost to nothing. Most of those who counted themselves as members either changed their approach, or left the fandom altogether.
