Burgerless Burger

A burgerless burger, especially in Southern California, means a burger made without meat patty. Unlike the veggie burger which is available only in some fast-food restaurants, you may order a "burgerless burger" from many other restaurants. You may order a burgerless burger from these restaurants: A burgerless burger can also be a burger made from a non-beef meat substitute because of fear of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE). For example: some restaurants may call their BLT sandwich or ham & cheese sandwich a "burgerless burger".
