Buddhist
monk and great scholar who presided over all of
Kucha
's Buddhist temples and nunneries during part of the
fourth century
. His famous disciple
Kumārajīva
later became a
Madhyamikan
and moved to
Chang'an
, then capital of
China
, to become one of Buddhism's most prolific and noted translators.
