Bubb RubbBubb Rubb is an Internet phenomenon started by a television broadcast on KRON in Oakland, CA. The news broadcast was about whistle tips, devices welded into a car's muffler to cause a loud whistle as the exhaust gas goes by. Residents of Oakland were upset because of the disturbance caused by the constant whistling. Besides interviewing those who were upset by the whistle tips, the news station also interviewed fans of the modification. One of these fans was a man calling himself Bubb Rubb. During the interview he said the phrase that would bring him his 15 minutes of fame - "The whistles go WOOO!!" The KRON broadcast was captured onto digital video and posted on the Internet. Several remixes were made of the broadcast which depicted Bubb Rubb dancing and rapping to his famous phrase. One remix, for example, was based on Blur's 1997 hit single "Song 2," whose chorus of "woo hoo" bears obvious resemblance to Bubb Rubb's "woo woo." The Bubb Rubb phenomenon was propagated throughout the Internet by many of the car enthusiast forums. Additional Quotes Bubb Rubb: "When you wanna WOOOWOOO!!! It's that Woo WOOOO!!!" Reporter Mark Jones: "Some neighbors are saying: way too loud." Bubb Rubb: "Das only in the moanin'. You 'posed to be up cookin' breakfast or somethin' by den, so, that's like a alarm clock. Woo wooo!!!" Tambo: "Git." Li'l Sis: "It's just for decoration! That's it and that's all, man; we do it for decorations." Slachs: "I Said Git Now Git." Lil' Sis "Lil' Sis," as she is called on the newscast, is the apparent comrade of Bubb Rubb. Lil' Sis is most often quoted as saying, "Just fo' decoration," while nodding to Bubb Rubb's statements.
