Bryan Mcleod

Bryan McLeod is a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He ran as a Progressive Conservative candidate in the provincial election of 2003, and as a Conservative candidate in the federal election of 2004. He has also campaigned for office at the municipal level. McLeod is currently a part-time political science student at the University of Winnipeg. He worked on Vic Toews's 1995 provincial campaign in Rossmere, and later became involved with the Canadian Alliance. In late 2002, McLeod (then 28 years old), ran for the Winnipeg city council in the riding of Elmwood-East Kildonan. His campaign called for more police officers in the community, and for laws mandating clean homes and streets. McLeod received 1548 votes, placing fourth among four candidates. In 2003, McLeod ran provincially in the northeastern Winnipeg riding of Elmwood, against longtime New Democratic MLA Jim Maloway. He finished second with 1229 votes, against Maloway's 3954. In 2004, McLeod ran in the federal east-Winnipeg riding of Elmwood-Transcona, against longtime New Democratic MP Bill Blaikie. He again placed second, receiving 7644 votes against 15221 for Blaikie.
