Bruce Grocott, Baron Grocott

Bruce Grocott, Baron Grocott, PC (born November 1, 1940), is a politician in the United Kingdom. He was first elected as member of Parliament for Lichfield in Tamworth in 1974, but lost his seat at the 1979 election. He was re-elected for Telford in 1987, but stepped down at the 2001 election. He served as PPS to Tony Blair. He was created a life peer in 2001, and is the present Captain of the Gentlemen-at-Arms, the post held by the Chief Whip in the House of Lords.
