Brooks Institute of Photography's mission is to prepare students to successfully pursue careers in professional commercial still photography, professional filmmaking, visual journalism or visual communication. The Institute provides a quality education that instills critical thinking skills, fosters creativity, broadens students' awareness of their world and encourages the full realization of individual's potential. The Institute encourages students to anticipate rapid industry change and prepares students to adapt to evolving technologies through pursuit of new knowledge and skills. Brooks Institute of Photography strives to hire working professionals in the respective program fields. These working professionals bring real life experiences to the classroom. The percentage of full-time faculty is very high in the Professional Photography, Film & Video Production and the Visual Journalism programs, thereby allowing more time for student interaction.
