Bressler-Enhaut-Oberlin is a census-designated place located in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 2,809.

Geography

Bressler-Enhaut-Oberlin is located at 40°13'57" North, 76°49'9" West (40.232590, -76.819304). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.5 km² (0.6 mi²). 1.5 km² (0.6 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 2,809 people, 1,157 households, and 776 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 1,869.9/km² (4,802.6/mi²). There are 1,206 housing units at an average density of 802.8/km² (2,061.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 82.41% White, 13.35% African American, 0.21% Native American, 0.25% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 1.74% from other races, and 1.99% from two or more races. 7.44% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 1,157 households out of which 29.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.0% are married couples living together, 15.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.9% are non-families. 29.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.42 and the average family size is 2.98. In the CDP the population is spread out with 24.5% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 30.6% from 25 to 44, 22.2% from 45 to 64, and 16.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 88.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 85.6 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $33,191, and the median income for a family is $37,997. Males have a median income of $30,710 versus $25,820 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $16,373. 11.9% of the population and 11.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 22.9% of those under the age of 18 and 9.1% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
