Breakfalls

Breakfalls are the specialised landing abilities of the practitioners of martial arts. They are usually taught early in the club syllabus and are essential to make sure people dont get hurt. Aikido has a specialised breakfall with more closely imitates a forward roll than anything else. Judo and karate breakfalls (and most other martial arts) involve slapping the mat hard and landing on your side.
