(Буржуазная лженаука) was a
cliche
in the
Soviet Union
of certain scientific disciplines that were deemed inadmissible from the
ideological
point of view
. At different moments the following disciplines were pronounced "bourgeois psudousciences":
genetics
(see
Lysenkoism
),
cybernetics
,
sociology
,
semiotics
,
comparative linguistics
(see
Japhetic theory
) and many others disciplines and approaches. This attitude brought irreparable harm to the development of the
Soviet Union
. Some other disciplines were declared "bourgeois pseudoscience" in the
People's Republic of China
.
