Boundary Bay Airport

Boundary Bay Airport (IATA Airport Code: ZZB) is located in Delta, British Columbia, Canada, just south of Vancouver. The airport serves mostly the general aviation community and hosts facilities for aircraft maitenance, flight training, parking, and ATC training. Boundary Bay is actually the busiest training airport in Canada, hosting 5 flight schools and training for Air Traffic Controllers. Due to the proximity of Vancouver International Airport, Boundary Bay hosts no regular commercial traffic, though charters frequently fly out of Boundary Bay and many smaller commercial airlines use Boundary Bay's maitenance facilities.

Runways

Boundary Bay has 2 runways: 12-30 and 07-25.

Flight Training

There are several organizations that offer flight training at the airport

History

Boundary Bay Airport was built in 1944 for use as an RCAF training base. It's location was chosen because Ladner typically has better weather than the rest of the lower mainland. Since WWII, the airport has changed hands several times, but served the General Aviation Community in the Vancouver area for a long time.
