Robert "Bobby" Kotick, chairman and CEO of American computer game company Activision, Inc., is credited for bringing back a near bankrupt game company (Activision) and transforming it into one of the most successful publishing houses to date. At a time when game companies were laying off droves of employees and closing their doors, with Kotick's lead, Activision grouped together key staff, signed on star developers, and brought in Hollywood and Sports celebrities into the art of making and marketing games. In little over a decade, the success of Activision propelled Kotick into the "40 Richest under 40" as published by Fortune in 2002 with an estimated worth of $120.8 million. As the Chairman and CEO, Kotick has helped propel Activision to the #2 spot of independent game publishing, second only to EA Games.
