Bob Cherry

Bob Cherry is a fiction writer and poet. His works have received many awards and honors, including the 1999 Horizon Award for his first novel, Spirit of the Raven: An Alaskan Novel. This best-selling novel was also recognized by the Western Writers of America as one of three finalists in its 2000 Awards for Best First Novel and Best Novel of the West. His short fiction has been published nationally and was awarded honors by the UNT literary magazine, Avesta. His poetry was awarded First Place on two separate occasions in the U. of A.Anchorage Daily News annual competition and has been published in anthologies.

Other accolades

West of Empty won the 2003 Spur Award for Best Original Paperback Novel from the Western Writers of America. Little Rains was a 2003 MPBA Adult Fiction Award Finalist and a Denver Post "Notable Book" for 2003.
