Bo Ryan

Bo Ryan (born December 20, 1947 in Chester, Pennsylvania) is the current head coach of the University of Wisconsin men's basketball team. Ryan is actually the current leader in overall winning percentage in the entire NCAA. Ryan was a star basketball player in high school and later starred as a point guard at Wilkes University. Bo began his coaching career right out of college at the College of Racine in Wisconsin. Ryan worked his way up and eventually was hired as an assistant coach under Bill Cofield and later under Steve Yoder at the University of Wisconsin. After his stint as an assistant, Ryan accepted the head coaching position at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. At Platteville, he became the premiere coach in Division III basketball, winning 3 national championships at UW-P. Ryan was hired as head coach at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and improved the program drastically in his two years at UWM before being picked up by the University of Wisconsin Badgers after the abrupt retirement of Dick Bennett. Ryan has went on to win 2 Big Ten championships and 1 Big Ten Tournament championship with the Badgers, making the NCAA Tournament each of his first 4 years and reaching the Sweet 16 in 2003 and the Elite 8 in 2005.
