Blackrock is a suburb of the city of Dublin, in County Dublin, Republic of Ireland. It is situated 3 km north of Dn Laoghaire. Blackrock has service industries and computer programming industries. A college of education; a secondary school, named Blackrock College; and a private clinic, named Blackrock Clinic are located here. Newpark Music School, incorporating the acclaimed Newpark Jazz School, is also located here. Carysfort College was a large college of education located in the area until its closure in 1988.
