The term "Biopolitics" or "Biopolitical" can refer to several things: 1. An axis on the political spectrum that reflects positions towards reproductive technology and genetic engineering. 2. Political advocacy in support of, or in opposition to, reproductive technology and genetic engineering. 3. Public policies regarding reproductive technology and genetic engineering. 4. Political advocacy concerned with the welfare of all forms of life. 5. The application and impact of political power on all aspects of life. 6. In the work of Michel Foucault, the style of government that regulates populations.
