Billung

The Billung Family were Saxon dukes and rulers, who can be traced back to AD 500. Magnus Billung, duke of Saxony and his wife Eilika were the parents of Otto the Rich, count of Ballenstedt who was the father of Albrecht der Baer Albert I of Brandenburg. The Billungers and other families are the ancestors of the Ascanian, who governed Saxony and Brandenburg.
