Bernard Diamond

Details

He was approx. 30 years old, and a Sergeant in the Bengal Horse Artillery, Indian Army during the Indian Mutiny when the following deed took place for which he was awarded the VC. On 28 September 1857 at Bolandshahr, India, Sergeant Diamond and a gunner (Richard Fitzgerald) worked their gun after every other man belonging to it had been either killed or wounded.
