Benito Jurez, Guerrero

Benito Jurez is a municipality in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. The municipal seat is the town of San Jernimo de Jurez. The municipality stands at 1700' , on the Pacific coast between Acapulco and Zihuatanejo, covering 284.9 km². It is drained by the Ro Atoyac. In the year 2000 census, it reported a population of 15,448. It was named in honour of 19th century president and patriot Benito Jurez.
