Bbc Sports Personality Of The Year Unsung Hero Award

The BBC Sports Personality of the Year Unsung Hero Award is given on an annual basis to a sportsperson who has made a substantative, yet unrecognised contribution to sport. The award was first given in 2003. Winners:
  • 2003 - Nobby Woodcock from the Bettws estate in Newport, South Wales for his dedication to grassroots football.
  • 2004 - Abdullah Ben-Kmayal for his work with Bethwin Football Club in Peckham, London, the club he founded and funded personally.
